みなさま、こんにちは！梅雨の中休みに縮景園に行ってみました。アジサイを見ていると、心がホッとしますね。土壌が酸性かアルカリ性かで色を変えるとは、なんと不思議な花なんでしょう。神様は素敵な魔法を使いますね。

今日はマザー・テレサの名言を味わってみましょう。

結果は二の次

　良い結果が出るに越したことはないけれど、ダメ元でも頑張った経験は人をパワーアップさせると思います。頑張っている最中に起こった出来事や、小さくても得られた成果は嬉しいものです。以前、私が劇団で役者をやっていたころ、本番よりも練習のほうが数倍楽しかったのを思い出します。目標に向かう過程では、何度失敗してもやり直しができるし、何といっても、自分が選んだ道に向かって邁進しているのですから、確実に楽しんでいるわけです。
　チャレンジ精神は神様が最も喜ぶことなのかもしれませんね。○○をやりたいと思うことがその人の個性であり、神様からもらった課題であり、命令であり、この世で誰もが演じる役柄なのでしょうね。

報酬にこだわると楽しめない

　成功する人は、給料の良い会社を選んだり、もらえる金額で仕事を選んだりしないらしい。極端な場合では、どうしてもやってみたいことがあったら、今もらっている給料が半分になっても、やりたい道を選ぶ人が多いらしい。たとえば、テーブルの上にある多機能でポケットがいっぱいついている1,980円のバッグと、シンプルで小さな10,000,000円のエルメスのバッグのどちらかをプレゼントすると言われたら、あなたはどちらを選びますか？　普通の人はエルメスを選びますよね！　バッグに興味がなくても、質屋に持って行ったら、かなりのお金になりますよ。でも、1,980円のバッグを選ぶ人は、その中に何が詰まっているかを見抜いているんですよ！　これは例え話ですから、バッグじゃなくても何でもいいわけです。つまり、大手の企業からの採用を断って、小さな企業に就職した場合、そういう決め方をする人にとっては、それが自分にとって最も良い選択であることを体のどこかで知っているのです。大手の企業で出世コースまっしぐらの人でも、うつ病になったり、その他の心の病になる場合もあります。しかし、どんな結果になっても、挑戦することによって、私たちは何かに気付くようになっているのかもしれません。
　すべては私たちに「気づき」を与えるために起きた現象で、チャレンジは私たちを気づきへと導いています。目の前に現れる魅力的なことをとりあえずこの手でつかんでみたい。つかんだら食べる。まずければ捨てればいい。次から次へと現れては消えるチャンスを見逃さないようにしたいです。

すべてはノンデュアリティーです。私たちは意識の一部。

Words of Mother Teresa ①

Hello everyone! I visited Shukkeien Garden during a break in the rainy season. Looking at the hydrangeas brings peace to my heart. How mysterious it is that these flowers change color depending on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline. God truly uses wonderful magic.
Today, let us reflect on a famous quote by Mother Teresa.

Results are secondary

　　While getting a good result is ideal, I believe that the experience of giving it your all—even when you think you might fail—strengthens a person. The events that happen while you are trying your hardest, and the small successes you achieve along the way, bring great joy.

　　I remember when I used to act in a theater troupe; practicing was several times more enjoyable than the actual performance. In the process of working toward a goal, you can start over no matter how many times you fail. Above all, because you are moving forward on the path you chose yourself, you are definitely enjoying the journey.

　　A spirit of challenge might be what pleases God the most. Wanting to do a specific thing reflects a person's individuality, and it is a task, a command given by God—perhaps even the very role that each person is meant to play in this world.

If you fixate on rewards, you cannot enjoy yourself

　　Successful people do not choose a company simply because it pays well, nor do they choose a job based on the amount of money they will receive. In extreme cases, if there is something they absolutely want to try, many will choose the path they desire even if it means their current salary is cut in half.

　　For example, suppose there are two bags on a table: a highly functional one with many pockets worth 1,980 yen, and a simple, small Hermès bag worth 10,000,000 yen. If you were told you could have either one as a gift, which would you choose? Most people would choose the Hermès, wouldn't they? Even if you have no interest in bags, taking it to a pawn shop would fetch a significant amount of money.

　　However, the person who chooses the 1,980 yen bag sees right through to what is packed inside it! This is just a metaphor, so it doesn't have to be a bag; it can be anything. In short, for those who turn down a job offer from a major corporation to work at a small company, they know deep down that this is the best choice for them. Even for those on the fast track to success at a major corporation, some suffer from depression or other issues...
